I'm Officially a Blogger

So, last week I was talking to Adrienne, and she suggested that maybe I should start blogging. I've been thinking about it for a while, but didn't know how to get started, and now...here I am!

I'm supposed to write what I've been thinking about today, I guess, so here'goes:

I've been thinking about what a beautiful day it's been outside! After a week of temperatures hovering not much over zero degrees, today's temperature of 40 degrees felt absolutely delightful. It was a clear, blue day so I decided to walk to work, and spend some time talking with the Lord-it's one of my favorite parts of long walks. My heart was full of joy and gratitude and hope! Whenever I feel the warmth of the sun on my face, I can't help but feel that heaven is smiling down on me, and that I am loved.

For those who may not know, a few months ago I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. The past months and years have been difficult from a health standpoint, especially as I have been trying to cope with pain. In working with my physicians, we decided that going to a pain clinic would be beneficial. The doctors at the clinic have been so good...they discussed all types of options and gave me hope that I really can have relief. Together we decided that a nerve block would be the best option, and my first expirimental block last week was a great success! It cut my pain in half-which trust me, is a big deal! My next expirimental block is this Thursday, and I'm hoping the next step-the long term block-will be happening shortly thereafter.

I feel like with my pain under control I can have more freedom to do some of the things I have been wanting to do, and will be able to move forward in life...though I'm not exactly sure of what that means. My views on life and what really matters have changed a lot in the past months especially, and so I'm anxious to see where the Lord leads me.
